- Step 1 : The Rush & Identification of "Golden Sequences"
Don't try to keep everything. In a one-hour podcast, there are usually 15 to 20 minutes of real value, the rest being pleasantries, transitions, or hesitations.
The pro clipper technique : Use a rating grid to list the timecodes of key moments :
💡 A shocking or inspiring story (Storytelling).
💡 A contrarian stance (Strong opinion / Debate).
💡 A practical and directly applicable tip (Tutorial / Raw value).
Step 2 : The Isolation of the Hook (The First 3 Seconds)
A clip without a strong hook will flop, even if the content of the discussion is exciting.
When you isolate a 40-second sequence, don't necessarily start from the chronological beginning. Go for the most impactful phrase from the end or middle of the sequence to place it in the introduction (The Teaser Hook).

Step 3 : The Choice of Visual Format
Depending on the original video quality of your podcast, you need to choose the most suitable editing format: - If the original video is nice and embodied: Focus on the 🎬 Caption Format by adding dynamic word-for-word subtitles and Sound Design (SFX).
- If the video is static (2 people sitting facing a microphone): Focus on the 🎬 Double Format by combining the speaker at the top and a captivating visual/gameplay background at the bottom.
Step 4: Network Optimization
Once your clip is edited, adapt it according to the codes of each application:
- On TikTok : Priority to visual dynamism and sound effects.
- On YouTube Shorts : Priority to perfect looping (Seamless Loop).
- On Instagram Reels : Priority to visual clarity and clean typography.

💡 Use AI to Accelerate Repurposing
You can automate the extraction phase using specialized AI tools like Opus Clip, Vizard, or Submagic. The AI will scan the transcript and suggest pre-analyzed cuts.
However, remember that AI only does 30% of the work. It is up to you to take these excerpts in CapCut or Premiere Pro to refine the hook, add illustrative shots (B-Rolls) and adjust the pace.
